The Boss

Being a mommy is rewarding.  However, sometimes at the very beginning, it is difficult because you really don't get any "feedback."  What do I mean? I am a managerial type- I like to know how I am doing.  How I can improve.  I like to set annual (or monthly) goals.  I feel like these things are what made me a successful manager, and why I am currently in business school.  Naturally, I expect feedback from my boss.  Except now my boss is a 13 pound adorable infant, and the stakes are pretty high.  As her parents, all we want is for her to be happy and healthy, and it is helpful to know that we're on the right track.  I remember her first smile.  It was like suddenly I got positive feedback!  We were doing something right!  And then the other day, she laughed.  Melt my heart!  What an awesome sound.   Probably one of the coolest sounds I have ever heard.  I will never forget it!  We're just having a ball watching this little thrive and grow.
